Frequently Asked Questions

Does anEDGE provide interview coaching for all Canadian law enforcement agencies?

Yes, anEDGE offers interview coaching for all law enforcement departments across Canada. While most sessions focus on RCMP, CBSA, and OPP interview coaching—primarily because these are the most prominent hiring organizations—anEDGE is equipped to support candidates applying to any Canadian law enforcement agency.

Our 1-on-1 law enforcement interview sessions are tailored to fully prepare you for success. While most candidates find 6-8 sessions sufficient, we’re dedicated to ensuring you’re ready, providing as many sessions as needed to help you excel in your law enforcement interview.

Applicants should structure their responses using the STAR format (Situation, Task, Action, Result). This approach promotes a clear and natural storytelling flow when describing experiences or events. Responses will be evaluated based on the provided scoring rubric

The RCMP Attribute Evaluation Interview (AEI) is part of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police selection process, assessing applicants’ suitability for a policing career. It evaluates specific attributes such as integrity, adaptability, teamwork, and problem-solving. Candidates provide examples of past experiences demonstrating these traits. The interview helps determine alignment with RCMP values and job requirements.

Yes, many of our applicants are already in the RCMP recruiting process or any other Municipal police recruitment process and hire us just for the interview coaching portion.

We want at least three weeks if you are in the Municipal, CBSA or RCMP recruiting process. We have many clients who come to us on shorter timelines, and we always accommodate them. But three weeks in optimal.

Most of our time is taken up with applicants going through the 3 or 4 largest Canadian law enforcement departments; anEDGE has experience dealing with every department’s application process and is not restricted to Municipal Police, CBSA, or the RCMP application process. We also do Corrections services and Sheriff’s departments.

The Regular Member Applicant Questionnaire (RMAQ) Interview is a key step in the RCMP application process. It involves a review of the applicant’s responses from the RMAQ, which covers personal history, behaviours, and experiences. The interview assesses honesty, integrity, and alignment with RCMP standards and expectations. Candidates are asked follow-up questions to clarify and expand on their answers. This process ensures applicants meet the ethical and professional standards required for service.
